Summer programs, tiered honestly.
The tier is about selectivity, which is what admissions offices read, not about brand. A free, selective maths camp outranks a paid two-week course with a famous name on the certificate. Costs are approximate and change yearly.

About summer programs
Do summer programs help college admissions?
Selective ones do, because selection is the signal: RSI, SSP, PROMYS, Ross, SUMaC, YYGS and similar. Open-enrolment pre-college courses at famous universities are enrichment; they show interest and cost money, and admissions offices know the difference. A summer spent running a project or doing research at home often beats a paid course.
Which summer programs offer financial aid to international students?
RSI and TASS are fully funded. PROMYS, Ross, SSP, YYGS, LaunchX, Cornell and UChicago offer need-based aid that international students can apply for. Most pre-college enrichment courses do not.
When are summer program deadlines?
Most selective programs close between December and February for the following summer, with RSI and SSP among the earliest. Applications need transcripts, recommendations and essays, so preparation starts in October of the year before.
