What we sell
Not a wall of faces. A method you can inspect.
Most counselling websites are a logo wall, a highlight reel of admits, and a phone number. You are asked to trust the results without being shown the work, and the results belong to other students anyway.
Plinth publishes the work. The five-step method below is what happens in every engagement, in that order, with a written artefact at each step. If a counsellor cannot show you the equivalent, ask them why.

An application is not written in Grade 12. It is written across Grade 10 and 11, in the projects a student actually finishes, and Grade 12 is only the year we describe it accurately.

The Plinth recipe
What we do that most counsellors do not
A diagnosis in writing
Every engagement starts with a written read of the transcript and activity list against the target tier. Families keep it. It is the roadmap, and it is how you check our work later.
Two pillars, not ten hobbies
We design the activity list so about four items are distinct and six sit in the overlap of two pillars. Cohesion is what an admissions reader remembers.
Competitions coached from the winners
Before a student writes, we take three winning entries apart together. Our students have earned multiple top-one-percent commendations in John Locke doing exactly this.
Research that gets published
Topic to journal in ten to fourteen weeks, with a method the student can defend in an interview.
Essays edited, never written
Six brainstorming exercises, one story, three editing rounds. Not one sentence is ours. This protects the admit and the interview.
Deadlines we own
Competition registrations, test sittings, portal submissions and aid forms sit on one calendar we run. Missing a deadline is our failure, not the student's.
Honest lists
Reach, target and likely are defined by data for that university and that profile. If a list is unrealistic, we say so early, when it can still be fixed.
No faces, no names
We do not put students on the website. Their applications are theirs. You get the method and the aggregate outcomes instead, and a call with the person who will do the work.

Seven systems, one profile
Each country reads an application differently. The US wants a person, the UK wants a scholar, Singapore wants both and interviews to check. We plan two destinations from the start.
From the founder
I started counselling because I had been through the process myself, from a boarding school in Dehradun to a scholarship in the United States, and I could see how much of it was luck and how much was method. The method part can be taught.
Over five years I have worked with students in India, Dubai, the UK, the US, Australia and Singapore, run more than eighty recorded counselling sessions and written profile reviews for around eighty-five students. The same things kept coming up: a scatter of activities with no spine, competitions entered without studying the winners, essays that listed achievements instead of arguing something, deadlines missed because nobody owned them.
Plinth exists to do those things properly, for a small number of students at a time, with the person you speak to on the first call doing the work.

Before you book
What does a college counsellor actually do?
A good one diagnoses the student's profile against the universities they want, builds the activities, research and competition record that makes the application worth reading, coaches the essays without writing them, manages every deadline, and gives the family an honest list. A bad one sells a package and a logo wall. We publish our method so you can judge which one you are talking to.
Why does Plinth not show student photos or names?
Our students are minors and young adults. Their applications belong to them, not to our marketing, and every application is different enough that another student's face tells you nothing about yours. We publish the method and aggregate outcomes instead.
How much does college counselling cost at Plinth?
Packages start from ₹1,50,000 for the application year, ₹2,50,000 for a twelve-month profile build, and ₹4,50,000 for the full journey from Grade 9 or 10. Essays, competitions, research, SAT or ACT, tuition and interviews are available on their own. The profile review and first call are free.
Which countries do you counsel for?
The United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, Singapore, Hong Kong and India. Most of our students apply to two destinations, and we plan both from the start so that one profile serves two very different systems.
When should we start?
Grade 9 or 10 for the full method, because pillars take two years to become real. Grade 11 is enough to build one strong pillar and apply well. In Grade 12 we can run the application properly, and we will tell you on the first call what is still achievable.
